Skin Care pt 3: Secrets of the Super-Models Revealed

When we see models on the runway or in television ads, their smooth skin and youthful look can capture an audience. Many of us may have secretly wished to have healthy skin and a youthful appearance. Some of us even wish we could keep our weight down and our bodies fit.

Super models and actors all have a secret, their looks aren’t all good genes, it’s how they care for their body in general. We may see them in commercials for fast food and prepackaged store food, in truth, nearly all of them wouldn't go near such fake food. Instead, they keep a strict watch on what they consume and how much exercise they get. Personal trainers and dieting is their lifestyle.

However, many, due to this rigorous lifestyle, succumb to premature aging, wrinkles, cellulite, and skin diseases. Others find themselves sick a lot, due to the lack of good nutrition they undergo in order to stay so thin. Then there are those few, who at least from our viewpoint, seem to stay young, fit, vibrant, and healthy for many years past their prime in the business.

Guess what, these few have stumbled upon the secret to ageless beauty and vibrant health. Unlike the norm, they realized that to keep their careers going long term, they needed more than a rabbit's diet and a personal trainer. They needed a lifestyle which would keep them going without the stress of yoyo dieting and strenuous workouts.

The First Big Secret Revealed: Diet and Exercise

First on their list is daily exercise. Yes, daily. But don’t worry, 3 hour sessions are not necessary to achieve or maintain a fit body. Daily routines do not have to be the same, either, they can be mixed up during the week in a combination of 3 to 4 different activities. As long as they contain 3-surge (burst) training session per week, 3-stretching (palates, yoga, ballet) session per week, 1 or 2 longer cardio sessions per week (walk, jog, run, pick a sport you can be passionate about), and daily physical activity such as gardening, window shopping, house work, or anything which gets you moving another 30 minutes of the day.

Second, they eat a lot of fresh, whole food. Most long term eating plans include raw vegetables, raw fruit (particularly berries), lean protein (particularly fish, protein powders, legumes and nuts), and small amounts of carbohydrates such as whole grain brown rice, sprouted bread, and whole grain cereal (rolled oats, steel cut oats, 7-grain hot cereal, or other cereals which need cooking). The diet consists mainly of vegetables in their raw or nearly raw state (at least 50%). Next, lean protein and fruit take up about 20% each. And finally, grains and essential fatty acids take up the last 10% or so.

However, some diets may be completely carbohydrate-free. These usually base their ratios around raw and lightly cooked vegetables and essential fatty acids for the optimum energy, with small amounts of berries and lean proteins (not legumes). Alcohol and most caffeine sources are avoided and plenty of filtered water is drunk daily. They also eat only when hungry and stop immediately when full. In most developed countries, the food won't go to waste, we can store it for later.

The Second Big Secret: Food Supplements

The first of these supplements is usually a daily multi-vitamin supplement. The best on the market (which provide the most benefits) are those which contain raw food enzymes and are made with whole food products. These may include products such as the Delicious Greens 8000 products.

The second set of supplements are usually essential fatty acids such as fish oil, hemp oil, coconut oil, flax oil, and multi-source essential fatty acid complexes. The body cannot store essential fatty acids, for this reason they usually increase the metabolism right away and are used for a primary source of fuel, especially in low-carb or no-carb lifestyles. (Only carbohydrates that are from raw fruits and vegetables)

The third set usually includes diuretic type supplements and herbs which reduce water tension and clean the bowel. This doesn’t mean they cause diarrhea, in fact when taken for extended periods, they have a normalizing effect on the body and prevent bloating from occurring.

The fourth set includes herbs and supplements designed to reduce inflammation, promote skin, nail, and hair health from within, and vitamin-C to keep the immune system at its best.

The fifth set includes externally supplementing the skin with all natural substances which are plant based and provide the necessary ingredients for the skin to effectively repair and rejuvenate itself. Many of these contain products the skin normally produces on its own, but the higher availability of the ingredients applied topically achieves the result more effectively.

What We Recommend

NOW® Wrinkle Rescue makes it easy to achieve youthful, glowing, and vibrant skin by rejuvenating the body's own anti-aging abilities. It is a two- pat system, a cream for external application, and a supplement to work within the body to support the skin nutritionally. The cream contains whole plant extracts (not essences) like vitamin-E, green tea, biotin, shea butter, avocado and apricot oils, and roe, to keep the skin protected from UV radiation and oxidation as well as environmental stress. The supplement contains fat soluble antioxidants which work for extended periods of time (compared to water soluble antioxidants) to support the skin internally from stress and free radical damage. You can find out more about the ingredients and directions for use here: NOW® Wrinkle Rescue Supplement or Supplement.

Hyaluronic Acid from NOW® renews damaged skin. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the body and skin tissues and is used to defeat radiation and damage from toxins. The body also uses it to repair damaged tissue and to promote the growth of collagen and elastin. This non-greasy cream also contains avocado oil, phospholipids, L-Carnosine, shea butter, and green tea extract, all clinically proven to promote skin health and reverse damage. It is best used with Hyaluronic Acid Serum also by NOW®.

Resilience Rescue™ is designed to promote elasticity in the skin. The natural shea nut butter and hyaluronic acid work together to form a synergy which penetrates into the skin and promotes moisture rich elastic skin. It also contains MSM and L-Carnosine to further promote anti-aging synergy.

Our special Woman’s Beauty Combo contains three products in a set each designed to address a particular issue with skin damage and aging.

~ Hyaluronic Acid Serum is an ultra concentrated gel which works naturally by supplying the skin with extra hyaluronic acid (which it produces) to promote more collagen and elastin production and fight free radical and radiation damage.

~ CoQ10 Age Defying Serum offers a level of anti-aging protection superior to most department store brands. It is the basis of today’s most popular cosmetic formulas. It also contains GABA, hyaluronic acid, L-Carnosine, and green tea extract for a synergy effect.

~ Borage Oil is an essential fatty acid supplement which supplies the body with 80% polyunsaturated fats such as linolenic acid (LA) and gamma linolenic acid (GLA). The body can manufacture its own, however, it is much more effective when supplied directly.
